Metal Roofing

I wonder if houses with metal roofing get hotter in the summer or if the metal reflects the heat back so that the house would actually end up being cooler. I saw a house with a metal roof the other day and that was what got me to thinking about it. I would like a roof that ensures that I will not get so cold in the winter or so hot in the summer.

Many metal roofs can help with summer efficiency by keeping the attic cooler. In the winter, though, you need insulation on your attic floor to hold the heat in your living space.

Look for a metal roof with a reflective pigment coating for maximum reflectance.
