I watched a George Carlin special over the weekend. I can’t believe he is 70 years old now. He isn’t the same old George Carlin I remember from years ago but he is still really funny. I miss the old HBO comedy specials they had all of the time. It almost seems like the HBO channel is going soft. The series they have now are really not that great. They have been surpassed by the other stations that they were leading in the shock and awe biz I guess.
I am noticing a big trend in movies about Africa. Blood Diamond, The Constant Gardener, etcetera etcetera.. They are all great movies but I wonder why it seems like everyone goes with the same theme at around the same time in Hollywood. Granted these movies were in the theater years ago, but they both came out at around the same time if I remember right. It does help to raise awareness on how bad things are there. It also shows how beautiful it is. I would love to visit Africa some day.
I am in need of a good story. It has been a while since I have had the time to read a good script or a book. Watching movies you can do while you do other things but reading just doesn’t work that way. I much prefer a good read to a good movie any day. I am hoping I will have some more free time soon. There are a lot of things I miss doing.
I am supposed to be writing this big paper. I have had ample time to do it but I have writers block. I stay up late at night when I finally do have a few free minutes to write, and the words just don’t come. I don’t know how I am going to finish the project. I hope the words come to me soon I am getting a little desperate.
The preview I saw for a walk in the clouds looks so good, and I want to watch it but I HATE Keanu Reeves with a blinding burning passion that I cant even begin to describe. I know he is going to do that stupid “whoah” thing he does and ruin the entire movie for me. So do I subject myself to it or not? It is a tough decision. Once I start watching it.. I have to finish the movie. If he sucks as he normally does though, I will be miserable the whole time.
Why does the good stuff always upset my stomach so badly? It seems like any time I eat anything that tastes good, I get a tummy ache! Its so not fair. I just want something that is not 90 percent vegetable, and pasta. I hope my stomach feels better soon. I miss being able to eat.
I wish the machines from Honey I shrunk the kids, and honey I blew up the baby were real. They would be a lot of fun to play with. In the wrong hands though it would be a disaster. Not only that but could you imagine the size of the diapers that kid has! I would not want to be the one responsible for cleaning them up. Their solar powered van is pretty neat too.
Ok so I watched all of my movies, it was a nice break from reading but really, I prefer to read a good script. Whether it is a play, a movie, or a musical I just love reading them. I don’t know what it is about a good script that gets me so wrapped up in it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my family was involved with the theater? Maybe it has to do with my love for writing? I don’t know.. but I love scripts.
I love net flix I really do. I can order tons of movies for way less than it costs to rent them or order them on pay per view. It comes in really handy these days because everyone is trying to save money on entertainment to pay for the rising costs of gas and groceries. I just need to figure out what movies I actually want this time around, there are so many to choose from!
I am really not looking forward to work today. There is a new training class and they are very loud and obnoxious and it makes it very hard to concentrate. I have even had my customers complain about the background noise because of the inappropriate behavior of these people. The management doesn’t really seem to care about it either. I wish they would make it a work environment instead of a party house.
